Christopher Crisp was born in Liverpool England January 4, 1847.
He died in Los Angeles June 4, 1921 and is buried in the Inglewood CA
cemetery. (I have seen the marker).
He ran the station I believe between Oct. 1878 and April 1890.
He had five sons, the last two would have been born at Crisp Point. My
grandfather was Gerald Budlong Crisp, born Oct. 14, 1879 and died April
6, 1932 (a few months before I was born). The other son born there
was Jasper Chipmond Crisp, Nov. 10, 1881. We have names and birth and
death dates of all of his children.
Christopher Crisp was married to Gertrude Martha Jane Peck, born in
Canada January 20, 1848 and died July 25, 1888. She is buried at
Maple
Ridge in Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
My wife finally found more information in the 1880 census record but
the handwriting was terrible and the name was transcribed with spelling
incorrect. This 1880 census also lists the names of all of the workers
and their job titles. There were 12 male workers and Jane's sister
Emily Peck is listed as a school teacher.
