lighth0a.gif 24th Crisp Point Lighthouse Summer Conference -- July 16, 2022


The 24th Crisp Point Lighthouse Conference is scheduled for July 16, 2022 (usually the third Saturday of July). We will meet at 9:00 a.m. for a light breakfast on July 16th at the Whitefish Township Community Center, located at 7052 N. M-123, Paradise, MI 49768. We will be giving everyone an update on the current happenings and future happenings at Crisp Point starting at 10:00 a.m. Lunch will be around noon and will be catered by Berry Patch from Paradise.

The guest speaker this year will be Pamela Cameron. Pamela is the author of "Sport, Ship Dog of the Great Lakes", which was published by Wisconsin Historical Society Press. She has been an elementary and middle school librarian and a public librarian in Wisconsin and Michigan. She is a member of the Association for Great Lakes Maritime History, the Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Association, Crisp Point Light Historical Society, and the Great Lakes Historical Society. Pamela will present information about lighthouse tenders that she discovered while doing research for her book. Admission will be $10 for adults and $5 for children age 12 and under to help cover the costs of the conference. Please register by June 15, 2022 so that we will be able to make sure we have enough food for everyone. For those emailing, you will be able to pay your admission fee at the door. Pre-paying however, is preferred. The lighthouse and Visitor's Center might be CLOSED on this day until AFTER the Conference so that the keepers can attend the event.
