lighth0a.gif23rd Crisp Point Lighthouse Summer Conference -- July 18, 2020

The 23rd Annual Crisp Point Lighthouse Conference that was to be held on July 18, 2020 (usually the third Saturday of July) has been canceled for this year due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. While this was a difficult decision for the CPLHS Board, the safety and well being of our volunteers, visitors, the Paradise and Newberry community residents, and its businesses, is the Board’s primary concern. The pandemic also raised concerns on availability and costs of our planned food options for the conference, whether or not many people would show up, potential difficulties on getting donations for the silent auction, and whether or not gatherings would be allowed by the date of the conference. While Paradise and Newberry area businesses will be enacting safety strategies to transition to an open-for-business economy in the weeks ahead, encouraging even larger numbers of visitors during these uncertain COVID19 pandemic times is contrary to the health and safety recommendations of the CDC and Michigan State government. We look forward to having our conference next year and seeing you all again after the pandemic is over. Take care and stay safe!
