CPLHS Request for Bids

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: Crisp Point Light Historical Society (CPLHS) will accept sealed bid proposals between April 28 and May 25, 2022 for a contract to furnish all labor, materials and related costs to repair the Crisp Point Lighthouse near Paradise, Michigan. Work scope: paint removal, brick masonry restoration, pointing, masonry cleaning, caulking, and coating. Digital and hard copies of bid packets can be obtained at crisppointlighthouse.org (see link below), by contacting Richard Neumann Architect at 610 Grand Avenue, Petoskey, MI 49770, or by email to r.neumann.arch@sbcglobal.net. Fixed-price bids can be submitted by mail or courier to Heather Johnson at 2110 Webber Avenue, Burton, MI 48529 if received no later than Tuesday 05.24.22. Alternatively, bid proposals will be accepted in person between 2:00pm and 4:30pm on 05.25.22 at the Veteran’s Memorial Library, 301 S. University Avenue, Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858 at which time they will be publicly opened. All bids shall be in a sealed envelope marked “Crisp Point Lighthouse Tower Restoration 2022”, faxed or emailed bids not accepted; a Bid Guarantee must accompany each proposal in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the proposal amount in the form of a certified check or bid bond payable to Crisp Point Light Historical Society. Bids received after the due dates will be returned unopened. Bidders must submit a signed copy of both the Certification Regarding Debarment and Certificate Verifying Key Persons of the Contractor. A pre-bid meeting will be held on 05.13.22 starting at 11:00am at the Crisp Point Lighthouse, 1944 Luce County Road 412, Newberry, MI 49868. CPLHS reserves the right to waive any irregularities and/or reject any or all bids. Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations required. This project is partially funded by a Michigan Lighthouse Assistance Program grant through the State Historic Preservation Office.
